A cinematic exploration that captures the essence of movement and identity in the streets of San José.
To capture the authenticity of Costa Rican urban dance culture, often marginalized, and present it in a format that would resonate with both the local community and a global audience. The challenge was to avoid clichés and create a pure narrative about rhythm as body language.
We developed a short-format documentary, filmed in real locations where the movement was born. Instead of a rigid script, we followed the dancers, allowing their personal stories and connection with the urban space to drive the narrative. We integrated motion graphics that visualized sound and rhythm.
